First time travelers to looking for an adventure safari more often than not opt for the Cape Town, Kruger Park and Victoria Falls combination package. This gives the traveler an excellent overall feel for the incredible destinations and wildlife on offer.

Cape Town, South Africa

Cape Town is located on the southern most tip of the African continent in South Africa. This city frequently ranks in the Top 10 most beautiful in the world and offers a large variety of attractions.

Cape Town is perhaps most notorious for the breathtaking Table Mountain that towers over the surrounds. Cape Town boasts several of the world’s most breathtaking beaches, including the popular Boulders Beach, where you can swim with the local Penguin population.

In addition Cape Town offers world-class wine estates, excellent cuisine, a great mix of culture and magnificent coastlines, great for whale watching and shark cage diving for the more adventurous.

The recommended average stay in Cape Town is 4-5 days and a wide range of accommodation is available, from backpackers to ultra-exclusive.

Kruger Park, South Africa

The Kruger Park in South Africa is home to more large mammal species than any other reserve in Africa, with more than 140. In addition to this it has more than 500 bird species, with over 240 resident species. On top of this abundance of wildlife, there is also a wide range of accommodation available, making it the best value for money wildlife safari destination in Africa.

Most first time safari goers want to see the notorious Big 5 animals, and all can be seen here. If you are unfamiliar with the Big 5, they are the elephant, rhino, buffalo, leopard and of course the African lion.

The leopard in particular is difficult to spot on safari as they are notoriously shy, but the hilltops of the surrounding private game reserves in the Kruger boast excellent numbers of this incredible cat.

The recommended stay in the Kruger is 4-6 nights.

Victoria Falls, Zambia/Zimbabwe

The Victoria Falls is the world’s biggest waterfall and a must-see attraction on your safari. Not only are the Falls themselves a spectacle to behold, the area has a wide range of activities for adventure seekers including bungee jumping, white water rafting, tiger fishing, sunset cruises and helicopter tours of the Falls and surrounding areas.

The recommended stay in Victoria Falls is 2-3 nights and there is a good selection of accommodation available, but 4-5 stars is recommended.
