The Castle of São Jorge, dating from the Moorish occupation of Lisbon, can be seen from almost everywhere in the city and offers beautiful panoramic views.
Although severely damaged by the 1755 earthquake, the castle is still well worth a visit, if only to take pictures of its ancient walls and towers, or for the amazing views over Lisbon.
